Letter of Endorsement for Chuck Stires, Senate Candidate for District 7 from
US Senator Elizabeth Dole

Chuck Stires is a good Christian man who will stand up for the values North Carolinians hold dear in the North Carolina General Assembly.  Chuck believes, as I do, that we should keep taxes low, secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws.  That is why I am proud to endorse Chuck Stires for the NC Senate.

NC Commissioner of Agriculture, Steve Troxler

There is, perhaps, no other state than North Carolina in a more advantageous position to benefit from the technological breakthroughs in agriculture. There is, perhaps, no other region of North Carolina more in a position to participate in that benefit than the Northeast region of our state.  We need Chuck Stires as Senator representing District 7 (Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren Counties).

The full extent of the available benefits will be never be realized if our elected officials do not have the vision to recognize the new technological future of agriculture and its impact on our economy, our food supply and our energy security. We will not realize our agriculture potential with old, tired bureaucratic thinking and processes and General Assembly inattention; we will only see this vital industry go the way of the North Carolina textiles and furniture.

Chuck Stires has the necessary technological understanding and vision to see North Carolina’s agricultural future. He has the business experience to understand the economic complexities. Chuck Stires has the experience in education to understand the need to leverage our powerful university system to keep North Carolina at the leading edge of bioagriculture growth. Chuck Stires’ roots were formed by his farming ancestors in 18th century Rockingham County. And to this day, Chuck maintains a small farm at his home in Franklin County.

Chuck Stires core conservative values commit him to protect our private property and second amendment rights. His unyielding dedication to his faith and family commits his support to defining and protecting traditional marriage in North Carolina.
Chuck Stires represents the contemporary legislative leadership we need in Raleigh to move our agriculture economy forward.

Please join with me in supporting Chuck Stires in his campaign to represent in the North Carolina Senate.

NC State Senator Fred Smith

Over the past three years, I've had the pleasure of getting to know Chuck Stires. Chuck ran a strong first-time campaign against Doug Berger in district seven (Franklin, Vance, Granville, Warren). On a very tight budget he received just under 40% of the vote in a very Democrat-heavy area.

With some help, he can win that seat. This would be a significant pick-up for us.
I have appeared with Chuck many times in 2006 and I've already shared the stage with him at several events this year. Chuck is a tireless campaigner, working very hard to win this seat. He is with us on every core issue.

Chuck will likely be contacting you seeking support and counsel. Please extend him every courtesy.

NC State Senator Phil Berger

I support Chuck Stires as the next Senator from District 7.

I got to know Chuck during the 2006 election cycle.  He ran for the seat held by Doug Berger who’s liberal views are inconsistent with the rural counties in District 7 (Franklin, Vance, Granville, Warren).  For this reason a conservative candidate would better represent the citizens.

Chuck received nearly 40% of the vote in 2006 despite a lean budget and a only a handful of hard working volunteers.  In 2008, he has started early building on his previous base and has substantially increased his list of volunteers.

I am impressed with Chuck’s work ethic and his understanding of the effective grass roots model.

He needs our support to build on his 2006 base and win the seat for the caucus.

I support Chuck.  When Chuck calls on you, please extend your support to him.

Endorsement of Chuck Stires for NC Senate District 7 from

NC State Auditor Les Merritt

I am proud to offer my endorsement and support to Chuck Stires’ candidacy for the N.C. Senate in District 7, which represents Vance, Warren, Franklin and Granville Counties.

Chuck Stires shares my belief that state government must become more effective, more efficient and more accountable to the taxpayers it serves.

Chuck Stires believes that government’s role is not to compete with private investment and development.  He believes that government should limit its role to one that creates an environment which encourages individual accomplishment and competition.  Chuck also understands that, in order for state government to do its job, it must focus on the right things and it must do those things as efficiently as possible.

Raleigh needs new thinking, and Chuck Stires has committed to bring that much-needed new perspective to our state capital.

Please join me in supporting Chuck Stires to be our state senator.

NC Commissioner of Labor, Cherie Berry

Upon first meeting Chuck Stires, I was immediately struck by his energy and his enthusiasm to serve the citizens of Vance, Warren, Franklin and Granville Counties as their State Senator.  But energy not supported by ideas is wasted energy and I quickly learned that Chuck has ideas and real plans to make his district and North Carolina a better place to work and live.

As a four-term legislator myself, I know the difference between rhetoric and conviction.  From what I know Chuck Stires’ conviction is founded on his faith, his family and his belief that government of the people means less government over the people.

Chuck is a businessperson just as I was before coming into elective service to the State.  That experience means that Chuck understands first-hand what it means to have government over-regulate and over-tax the very people who provide jobs and provide economic opportunity for others.  That is the kind of experience we all need representing us not just in the State Senate but all the way to the White House.

For his energy, for his conviction and for his experience, I’m proud to lend my support to Chuck Stires in his race for the North Carolina Senate.  I hope you will join me.
